Key parameters of analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) are their sampling rate and dynamic range. Power consumption cost an ADC directly proportional to the rate; hence, it is desirable keep as low possible. The range also plays important role, ideally, should be greater than signal's; otherwise, signal will clipped. To avoid clipping, modulo folding can used before sampling, followed by unfolding algorithm recover true signal. Here, authors present a hardware prototype that clipping. authors’ operates prior mechanism fold higher frequency signals compared existing hardware. detailed design address key issues arise during implementation. In terms applications, show reconstruction finite-rate-of-innovation signals, which beyond ADC. system at six times below Nyquist accommodate eight larger ADC's
